hey dude, yeah i think you have answered your query yourself, it is a little flat, just darken down that hollow and through a little more light onto the top left...i am diggin the space background though, maybe some of those meteor space chunk things could overlap the planet and make it more part of the scene. Anyways, the other pages so far have been awesome, so i'm sure this one will wind up the same :)
It seems to me that the orange 'explosion/nebula' is too bright and that part of the image is not only the focus, but it's coming forward, setting the planet back. The duller colors of the planet are also a little too close to each other in terms of intensity and blend somewhat together. I agree with others that the hollow would work better darker. Otherwise, I find your work amazingly inspirational, especially in its level of dynamism. You capture so much movement and tension in every image.
