Appa-tunity

I just picked up the new book Nickelodeon put out of Avatar: The Last Airbender; The Art of the Animated Series.

One of my favorite books of all time to date.  There's so much goodies and inspiration from cover to cover, that I couldn't resist to draw Appa.

Hope y'all digs!

Face time

Here's a few head sketches I did up at Heroes Con. :)
You know these are of you, so come on in and claim yo' face!
uck at caricatures, but it's always fun to do.
I used to do caricatures at Sea World down in San Diego in 2000. I was only there for a month. The kids were too brutally honest. HAHAHAHA Here's the one that got me running out the door... "That doesn't look like my sister.... that looks like a boy!" DOH! HAHAHAHAHAHA I never went back. Props to caricature artists. Very hard to draw likenesses on the spot in 7 minutes.

Hope y'all digs!

Toy Story...

...well, not the brilliant Pixar version obviously. :)

This be a pin-up I did for my pal, Patrick Morgan's 2010 artbook.  Man, I love the universe he and his homies created.  SO FUN!

If ya haven't picked up the Whaleboy vinyl yet, then you're missing out because that lil thing is GORGEOUS.

Hope y'all digs!

Anim-mates "Designers Unleashed"

Hey gang... wow... it's been a minute since I have been able to get back onto the online art communities.  Been playing catch-up with my deadlines ever since I've been back from Heroes Con.

Man,  that con was a blast!  One of my favorites for sure.  Big thank you to everyone that cruised by the table to say howdy and show your gorgeous work off!  You all made our con so memorable.

Here's a cover I worked up today of some new character designs I did for my pals over at Animation Rigs.  It's for their book Anim-mates "Designers Unleashed". The book will be launched this year at their booth at San Diego Comic Con   :)

The book is a tribute to every artist that poured blood and sweat into creating new characters and exciting new worlds.  It's a great inside look at the collaborative thought and creative process from design to 3D.

Book specs:

 -hardback
 -86 pgs
 -full color
 -wrap around cover
 -$20
Comic Con special price only!

Pre-Orders coming soon!

Hope y'all digs!

Double Blog Dare Tour!

Just now able to come up for some fresh air from some deadlines ever since Ichiban and I got back from Heroes Con in Charlotte.  Man, we had such a good time!  It was great to catch up with friends and drool over some awesome artwork we saw throughout the weekend.  Thank you to everyone that stopped by our table and we hope to see ya all again next year!

Here's a piece I did for the Double Blog Dare Tour.

This is my take on my boy J. Torres' daring little girl Alison Dare! Alison is the star of two books that recently came out from Tundra Books. She's got her own blog tour going on right now which you can check out here (link: http://tundrabooks.wordpress.com/2010/05/25/the-double-blog-dare-tour/)

If you liked J.'s work on Teen Titans Go and other comics, you should check out Alison Dare. The amazing J. Bone is the artist so you know it looks tight! You can order the two Alison Dare books from Amazon and such, or you can enter the contest to win copies here (link: http://tundrabooks.wordpress.com/contest/). Go on, I dare ya!

Ok ok ok... back to the new stuff...

Art bag:

(the large compartment can hold up to 11x17 sketchbooks and the smaller compartment can hold various smaller items).
