Up Down Up Down Left Right Left Right AB AB

If you know the code from back in the day, then welcome to the nerd club.

I was watching Captain N: The Game Master tonight (the complete series), and was inspired to draw him. What a great cartoon it was. It still holds up!

Hope y'all digs!

man alive i flippin loved Captain N...that joybad belt buckle, the mega cool zapper, hanging out with megaman, kid icarus, and that tool Simon from castlevania...awesome cartoon. And the NES is the coolest lookin console ever - period.

Man, think u should like Astrofunk issue 2...the evil chick whips out her 8 bit blasters and goes on a bunny blasting frenzy! ...ok, so i have to finish issue 1 first, but it's gonna be sweeet!!

Awesome drawing as always dude, keep inspiring!

Haha, I never watched Captain N, but I do remember using the code for Contra..... but there was an additional "select start" at the end!!!!

Looks great :) Love the pose, especially. He's got so much character!

If you use that, nothing will happen! The Konami Code is actually UUDDLRLRBA (+start)... I used to use it in Gradius.

I don't remember Captain N being that good... I'll have to check it out :)

Captain N wasnt really that good actually.

Its more fun in a totally nostalgic way. It kind of brings back that Saturday morning feeling in a real way. Kind of like the Super Mario Bros. Super Show only more so.

I always thought that was a pretty good one. I had a grey market tape of it from one of those online guys but I'll get this now. Mother Brain is pretty nuts.
Thanks for the heads up on the DVD set!

Hey thanks! I'm glad you liked the show. I was one of the character designers in one of my very first gigs where I was given a leadership role...way back when.

I was made the design lead and I designed Captain N, his dog, the princess, Simon Belmont and Mother Brain. A friend of mine named Fil Barlow designed King Hippo, the eggplant looking guy and Megaman.

I have to say, your design of Captain N is much better than my version. Great job.

Shit... its been a minute since Captain N...
I remember checkin out the greats like Thundercats and He-Man after becoming a stupid "grown uo" and sadly enough they were nowhere near what I remember...
But they will always live triumphantly in my heart...
They will always rock....
and so will King Hippo damn it!
Nice job...

hahaha thanx, everyone!

the designs for it rock my world.

hey Marcelo! man, you did a great job with those designs. Capt. N, and the dog's design really stuck out as being nicely developed. i love all the designs, but something about those 2 are magnificent.

hope to see whomever at the san diego comicon!

I'd have to agree with Andrew...Captain N (in retrospect) wasn't that great. BUT I did enjoy it at the time. In any case, awesome drawing!
