So this is officially my first drawing of the New Year.
This year I'm focusing on telling more story in my posts, so bear with me. :)
I just got back from Arizona's Cactus con, and man.... I had a blast! Thank you, everyone, for coming by the table and the panels. I really, and truly enjoyed talking with you all, and being able to see old friends, and make new ones. I hope I didn't chew your ear off too much. ;)
One of my biggest highlights was meeting and getting to hang out with one of my all-time favorite artist, Kaare Andrews. His works has inspired me all these years.
Big, big, big thank yous going out to Joe, Ed, Freddie, Stephanie, and everyone that really made our trip such a pleasant one. I'm looking forward to next year!
Hope y'all digs!

Kuta sculpt on sale as of today!!! :)
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN....IT'S AN ARMY OF KUTAS!!! Nobody's safe!!!!!!!!!
Like I promised, here's the update on my Kuta character. (Anyone know how to make gifs files play on here?)
The sculpt was based off of one of my designs for Bastion's 7 characters; Kuta, by the phenomenal Irene Matar: http://irenematar.blogspot.com/
The sculpts are close to 8 inches tall, give or take. ;)
Ok... here's the breakdown:
I am going to go about it 3 ways. There will be a limited run of resins for it; somewhere between 50-100 of those, but there may be a possibility to do more depending on the demand for it. They will be sold as kits for those of you that like to paint and assemble things yourselves.
As of today, the resins are on sale now, and if you're interested in owning a resin version it's going for $100, and shipping varies due to where you live.
Shipping rates:
Domestic:
Sculpt: $100.00 + Paypal fee: $3.20 + Domestic shipping: 10.35= $113.55
International:
Sculpt: $100.00 + Paypal fee: $3.20 + Domestic shipping: 20.35= $123.55
Ordering info: At the moment I can only receive payment through paypal for the resins. Payment can be sent to: cheeks_1974a@hotmail.com
This weekend (January 23-25), at the Phoenix Cactus Convention, I am making the statues available for purchase, and available for online purchases for those who can't make it to the cons. I'll only be bringing 8 with me to the con because I will also be selling my artbook "Spread the Cheeks" ($25 per book).
Vinyl info:
The mass production of the Kuta sculpt will be made into vinyl figures. Where it stands now is 1500 of them will be painted the regular colors that you all are familiar with, and the remaining 500 will be in gray scale as exclusives.
Unfortunately, no pre-orders will be taken yet for the vinyls.
Both versions of the vinyls (painted in it's regular colors and gray scale) will be available at the conventions and through online purchases for those who cannot make it to the cons. I'll update you when I get more info about the cost of it, ordering info, and when you can start placing your orders if you're interested.
Thank you everyone for your emails, and notes, and comments about Kuta. Your excitement and patience has been more than I could have ever imagined.
Much love to you all, and I hope y'all do that dig thang!

Spectacular Spider-man Season 2 eps #15
Howdy, all! Welp.... Canada just aired Spectacular Spider-man Animated, Season2, Episode #15.

This one features Kraven and Kraven... Weird huh? Time to find out, right?
Welp.... Now's as good as time as any to let you all know that I've been nominated for an Annie Award for character design. No... not the Little Orphan Annie Award. :P I'm new to this, so I just found out myself, too, so for those of you who aren't familiar with this like I was, the Annie Award is an Animation Award. On January 31st the results will be announced at the ceremony. I've been invited to the event, so I am totally nervous, butterflies in my stomach even. I'm up against some fantastic shows, and their designs are gorgeous, but who knows what the outcome will be. I'm just really happy to have been nominated. Believe me, I'll be praying of course. Big thank you to everyone for all the hard work making the show what it is, and big ups to those who have been keeping tune, and anticipating the show, and for 2nd season's debut in the states (which BTW will begin airing March 2009, on Jetex).
Anyway... Hope you enjoy the episode!

Spectacular Spider-man Season 2.....
...... started airing in Canada. Here are the links to the to the first episode (eps #14) With Mysterio as the villain of the week. :)
This is one of my favorite episodes. The story is fun and clever, animation is on model, the storyboards are breath taking, and the directing is top notch!!!
I thought you all might like to know since you've been asking for updates.

In other news:
I recently got recruited to be the regular cover artist for Boom Studios Incredibles' comic.
I am a HUGE fan of the Incredibles as I'm sure many many many of us are.
I suck at being on model, and thankfully I wasn't required to, but I still wanted to make sure I captured the resemblance and essence of the characters to the best of my capability.
Hope y'all digs!
