You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to this. I just picked up Teen Titans 37 the other day. Very cool stuff, man.

  4. Hmmm... hate to be a Negative Nellie, but I'm not feelin' this cover at all. It's lacking your usual sense of dynamism and excitement and I can't see this catching the eye of anyone passing by the comic racks at all. Are you given free reign on these covers, or are there certain requirements they're asking for?
    Sorry, man.

  6. Mmmhh… Of the same opinion as Pop. Can be that the implementation of the texts and typos of your cover shall revitalize the ensemble. Sorry …but it's just an opinion ;)

  15. too many fanboys are stuck sucking at the marvel teat, and can't register anything other than fists-comin-at-y and all-guns-blazing. this has drama and narrative, and razor-sharp composition - brill!

  18. Shane, where in any of these comments did anyone mention a lack of "fists 'n' guns" as being the problem with this illustration? Why don't you crawl out of Cheek's butt and listen to others and try to respond in an intelligent and constructive fashion? I find the composition boring not due to any lack of "action", but rather to the lack of flow and incomprehensibility of the scenario. I've seen plenty of Sean's "actionless" pieces that had much better composition. The lines of direction seem to be very stiff and angular and my eye is not drawn across the image in any sort of engaging way. Mr. Fantastic is laying flat on some sort of experimentation table, held against his will, with a thermometer in his mouth and a difficult to read expression on his face. I don't expect all the answers to be given in the image, but the suspense comes from the wrong source due to there not being enough clues to build a proper sense of curiosity -- instead I'm just left wondering where the missing pieces are to this image. Everything is coming off as very flat and dulled to me. That's my opinion as an artist, not as some sort of caffeine-riddled fanboy itching for guns and tits.

Why don't you explain to me where all the drama and razor-sharp composition enters into the discussion instead of whipping off easy insults at people you don't even know. Why don't you explain to me the "narrative", cuz I can't tell if Mr. Incredible is just ill, held captive, being experimented on, or operated on, or what.

Sean doesn't need you to defend him -- he can do that himself if he sees fit and he can slap down my opinion if he disagrees with it. More likely, he would take the more polite route and discuss his points and opinions like a decent human being, which I've seen him do many times before.
